The Story
When Three Are Not One
Long ago, the people lived under a covenant of balance. Knowledge strengthened judgment. Judgment protected compassion. Compassion gave purpose to knowledge. At the center of that unity stood the Staff of Ascension, carried by an Akuru who served not as a conqueror, but as a living balance between the forces that held the people together.
Over time, pride, fear and ambition fractured that unity. The final Akuru understood that the Staff could not be allowed to become a prize of war. It was broken into three sacred fragments and scattered across the land. To protect them, sacred guardians were awakened, not merely to defend the fragments, but to judge those who would seek them.
Generations later, the tribes no longer remember unity as lived experience.
“Then the dreams begin.”
Ole Sane sees his people burn. Otieno sees the ocean rise. Mungai sees the mountains move. Across different lands, each hears the same command from Enda'Kai: the three must become one again, or all may be lost.
Their path now leads toward an impossible task: reunite divided peoples, recover what was broken, face guardians that test more than strength, and discover whether balance can be chosen again.
